Who turned off the air conditioner??

I don't like it. Not one bit. When we moved here 3 years ago I was promised mild summers and nice snowy white winters. Well, the snow part has held up, but apparently someone forgot to tell Keith that they do actually have summer here. I mean, it is like 90 degrees today. And to top that off, it is only MAY!!!!! What do I have to look forward to in JULY?? Give me a break, it was snowing here last weekend. Who broke the thermostat?

So, other than being generally angry with the weather, everyone in our house is doing pretty good. Keith is on midnights right now so he pretty much sleeps during the day and walks around the house grunting for a few hours after he gets up. But hey, who can blame him? I sure could not work his schedule. The girls are doing pretty good too. Bethany has 2 more days of school left and then she will officially be a kindergartener. That makes me soooooo sad. She is growing up so fast. Just this morning, after church I was in the kitchen making her some lunch when she came marching in with her hands on her hips and said, "Mom, what do you think you are doing??" I did not know whether to spank her or laugh. Don't they have to be at least 12 to start acting like a teenager?

Sara is doing better too. She has been on a nebulizer for about 3 weeks for 'allergy induced asthma'. She was coughing so hard I thought she was going to pass out. But it seems like in the last 4 or 5 days she has actually gotten better. She has not woken up in the middle of the night cough and hacking in almost a week. But we are still seeing an Allergist on the 6th of June to try and get to the bottom of it. We are crossing our fingers that it is not the dog.

We are planning a trip to Kentucky in a couple weeks. Can't wait to see my family and friends. I think we might even make a guest appearance in Jackson while we are there. It will be good to see our old friends.

I better go. I hope to blog some more later. I have some new pictures of the girls to put on. Have a great Memorial Day. Don't forget to pray for those lost in ALL our battles.

My house has the blah's....

It is so cold here right now. The temps are only on the 40's today and it is raining off and on. I just want to crawl back in bed and sleep the day away. Long ago are those days. I was thinking what I would be doing today if I did not have kids. I would probably still be sleeping and then I would get up and eat something while I watched Days of our Lives and then I would probably take a nap until about 30 minutes before Keith came home at which time I would pick up and straighten up. Of course I would carry on like I had cleaned all day. I wouldn't want him to think I was lazy or something!?!?!? But those days are long gone and I am actually kind of glad. What a waste of a day that would have been. That would have been then, but now, I slept in until 7:30 (that is great for me now) and then I got up and did some work on my internet job and fed some kids and now I am doing laundry and cleaning house. All this BEFORE 'Days' comes on. I actually enjoy getting up and getting my day started now. I would not trade all the sleep in the world for the life I have now. I love my girls more than anything in the world. It is actually FUN to take care of them. I guess that is what having kids is all about huh?

We had a pretty good week. Sara went to the doctor on Tuesday and he had me get a nebulizer to try and help treat her cough and congestion until we see an allergist. It all had me pretty upset but I am better now. I am not quite sure yet if it is working. Hopefully she will see the allergist soon. Keith has been feeling a bit icky this week too. I think all of us are suffering with our springtime allergies right now. Thank goodness there are only roughly 5 more months until it starts snowing again. ;)

I better get going. We have a meeting at church tonight and then a farewell dinner with some friends who are moving to Columbia, SC tomorrow. Hope to blog again soon!!

Best Friends Forever!!!

Do you remember when you were young and you would pass notes back and forth in class and always sign them "B/F/F" (best friends forever)? I sure remember doing it all the time with my friend Brooke. We shared a locker and a lot of classes but could always come up with something to pass a note about. Maybe it was the thrill of maybe getting caught by the teacher. Who knows. All I DO know is that I hope Bethany and Abby are as close in JR High and High School as they are today. I can just imagine Bethany and Abby when they are teenagers. LOOK OUT! It is going to be so great. Oh, I am sure they will have their differences. But I am sure they will always come back to each other. Best Friends always do. If you don't believe me, just ask my girlfriend, Brooke. I really believe that a girls first "best friend" has more impact on her than her first boyfriend. But then again, that is just me. I have been BLESSED with some honest to goodness 'friends thru thick and thin' in my life. Boy am I thankful for all of them. I would probably be in an insane assylum right now if not for my friends. So, I guess my wish for Bethany and Abby right now is that they will always love each other with that unconditional "preschool love" that they have today. And an added bonus for me, Abby has a little sister that is 2 months younger than Sara!! How lucky would I be if Sara and Cassie ended up being close like their sisters. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

On to the rest of my life. It has been an interesting last couple of days. Apparently there was a sick child in nursery at church on Sunday because all the children that were in the room with said sick child are now sick. I mean gastronintestinal flu sick. You guessed it, that means Sara is/was sick. She started throwing up on Monday and I think she is on the mend now. BUT, if that was not bad enough, Keith got it on Wednesday and I got it on Thursday. Keith was pretty bad off there for a while. But as for myself, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I did not have it as bad. I got sick Thursday morning and was eating toast my Thursday night. Bethany is the only one who has not had it yet. I am praying she does not get it at all. I mean, it was so bad on Thursday morning that we did not take Bethany to school for 2 reasons. 1) Neither of us felt like we could/should drive her to school and 2)We needed her here to help "take care" of Sara. ie. giving her a bottle and fetching things for us. It was a sad state in my house yesterday. But thank goodness I believe we are all feeling much better today.

Well, I better go and get started cleaning and disinfecting this joint. All I need is a reinfestation of this stuff. Talk to you again soon.
